Kathmandu: The Nepal LP Gas Industry Association has postponed its planned agitation, which was set to take effect from Thursday. The decision came after an agreement was reached between the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) Board, its staff, and Association representatives to address the industry's legitimate demands.

The strike was called off following Minister for Industry and Supplies Damodar Bhandari’s intervention. He urged both NOC officials and Association leaders to engage in dialogue to resolve the issue and assured that their concerns would be addressed.

The Association had been demanding price adjustments, which had remained unchanged for the past six years. In response to the dispute, the Ministry of Industry and Supplies had previously formed a committee led by Rajan Poudel, Director General of the Department of Commerce, Supplies, and Consumer Protection, to investigate the matter.

According to NOC Spokesperson Manoj Kumar Thakur, the agitation has been deferred for 15 days to allow further study of the committee’s report. The decision provides temporary relief, while discussions continue to find a long-term resolution.
